We are now working through stage 3 of our CHEXS GROWTH programme stage 3 – Coaching, and Transition coaching.
The young people on the CHEXS Transition coaching programme- ‘Bridging the Gap’ have shared their feelings around their transition to secondary school. We are so happy to see that in many cases their worries and concerns were quickly supported and steps put in place to help them progress and overcome their barriers to learning and achievement.
2 young people shared their experiences working alongside CHEXS at this years AGM. CHEXS were so pleased to see we have been part of their journey and smooth transition to secondary school.
As part of the GROWTH coaching the children and young people have been busy setting themselves targets for the future; be that for Education and Learning or for Confidence and Self-Esteem and Feelings and Behaviour. These targets are reviewed regularly and bring about a great sense of pride when they see for themselves how they have developed.
The sessions have ‘Protected Behaviours’ at the core and encourage the children and young people to identify who can support them in times of need and how they can become more aware of their own ‘Early Warning Signs’ and explore techniques to help them move through difficult feelings and emotions.
The coaching sessions are laced with ‘hands on’ activities which bring the topics to life and help the children and young people explore and problem solve some tricky / sensitive situations and emotions.
We would like to thank Children in Need for supporting us with CHEXS GROWTH programme 2022-23
and for Warburtons for supporting our transition coaching ‘Bridging the gap’.
