Transition support – Sponsored by Warburtons
We are pleased to by running a project called ‘Bridging the Gap’ sponsored by Warburtons.
This is a project designed for students that are struggling with transitioning between Primary and Secondary school.
You can read the below fantastic article about this project in the Enfield Independant.
The pupils referred for transition sessions are held within school. 16 pupils are referred for a multitude of reasons including struggles with settling in, friendships, behaviour, attendance or emotional wellbeing.
CHEXS work in small groups or 1:1’s where appropriate, to chat with the pupils about how they are getting on at secondary school, who their support systems are and focusing on goals to achieve throughout the year.
CHEXS are a listening ear and sessions are adapted for the needs of each pupil.
We tailor sessions based on protective behaviours and life skills to ensure the pupils feel comfortable to talk to us.
We aim to deliver sessions to improve their wellbeing, increase confidence, improve behaviour and attendance and allow them a chance to speak openly.
