Family Support Service update – June 24

For our Family Support service update – June 2024, we wanted to tell you some more about what we have been up to.

We have all been busy during the Spring term –

Continued to deliver face to face Emotionally based school avoidance workshops in all Schools. These were very well attended which enabled plenty of peer on peer discussions.  Some feedback from parents included:

“ This has been such a good workshop, so interactive and great ideas, thankyou”

“We found this workshop so useful, it was good to have group discussion.”

“I found this session so helpful, really enjoyed the group discussion, sharing tips of what works, thank you so much”

Collaborating with local councilors and local businesses.

In May we were fortunate to have Patricia Spears (Deputy Mayor of Broxbourne), and one of our trustees to join our family support meeting. She shared valuable insights and discussed additional opportunities for CHEXS to further assist and support our families within the community.

Additionally, on the 30th April the team had the pleasure of meeting Amy Buckley (Engagement Executive) from Reynolds in Waltham Cross. Amy had some great ideas around ways that we could work together in the future to help and support our families within the local community.

Parenting support and workshops

On the 12th June at Lunch time and an evening session too, we held our Moving On Up⬆️ Workshop Online. A group discussing the transition to a new school. It is always great to be able to talk through parents concerns with children’s transitions into different year groups. Giving tips and advice to make the transition easier. If you would like to book into future sessions, please follow our Eventbrite page so that you can see any new uploads. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/chexs-29780948517
