CHEXS Family Support: Growing Connections, Empowering Parents & Strengthening Support

This term has been full of meaningful connections, practical support, and impactful community engagement from our CHEXS Family Support Team. Whether through Real Talk sessions, SEN guidance workshops, or one-to-one support, we’ve been proudly walking alongside families—offering a listening ear, expert advice, and practical tools to help them thrive.

Real Talk: Bigger Conversations, Greater Impact

Our Real Talk sessions at Tesco Brookfield continue to be a vital hub for open conversation and peer support—and this term, we were thrilled to welcome 12 attendees to a particularly impactful session.

Jenny delivered an insightful presentation on SEN guidance and support, helping parents feel better informed and more confident in navigating the challenges of raising children with additional needs.

“It’s great to know there’s support out there and that I’m not alone.” – Real Talk parent attendee

We’re so proud of how these sessions continue to grow—thanks to our dedicated team and incredible guest speakers.

Seeing is Believing: Showcasing CHEXS in Action

This term, CHEXS hosted a Seeing is Believing Day, giving VIP visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the incredible work happening across our projects.

  • Ang took on the role of chauffeur—making sure everyone got to see our work first hand.

  • Jenny and Andrea warmly welcomed families during another engaging Real Talk session as part of the day.

It was a great opportunity to share the heart of what we do: connection, community, and consistent support.

On the Ground: At School Gates & In the Community

Our Family Support team has been active at the school gates, offering advice, listening ears, and a strong presence to parents. Whether it’s a friendly chat, help with referrals, or just being available—we’re there.

We’ve also been:

  • Putting up school banners to help raise awareness of CHEXS support services
  • Meeting families one-on-one in the community to offer tailored support
  • Delivering bespoke 1:1 workshops for parents who need more focused help

These everyday connections are what build trust and create real, lasting change.

Top Tips: SEN Workshop Series Begins!
