SEEING IS BELIEVING
A Truly Inspirational Day at CHEXS
What an amazing and memorable day! CHEXS proudly hosted our very first ever “Seeing is Believing” day, and it was nothing short of inspiring. We invited community leaders, decision makers, and business representatives to join us for a behind-the-scenes experience of the life-changing work we do every day.
We began the day at CHEXS HQ with warm introductions from our dedicated team and trustees. It was an opportunity for everyone to learn more about CHEXS’ mission and the collaborative spirit that drives us forward.
Among our wonderful guests were Sarah Perman, Rhys Evans, Tina Powell, Lesley Greensmyth, Martin Greensmyth, Andrew Fairclough, Siobhan Monaghan, Dr Roger Green, and Paul Mason. They all witnessed first hand how partnerships between local government, businesses, and the voluntary sector can create genuine, lasting change for young people and families in Hertfordshire.
Our Highlights
One of the highlights of the day was hearing from our guest speakers, starting with Mus, whose is an entrepreneurship with his business Ambersun in the same building as CHEXS headquarters. The support he received from CHEXS back in 2014 had shaped his future. His moving story reflected the long-term impact of our work and reminded us all just how transformative the right guidance and encouragement can be.
We also heard from Danny at Craven Financial Limited, a proud parent whose son is now volunteering with CHEXS. His emotional account of his son’s journey, from uncertainty to confidence and success, touched us all deeply.
Our day continued….
with a visit to Lee Valley Regional Park. There, our guests saw the CHEXS team in action, working with students from Goffs Churchgate Secondary School and Millbrook Primary School. Watching young people develop resilience, confidence, and key life skills was a powerful testament to what community collaboration can achieve.
Later, at Tesco Brookfield, we hosted a Real Talk session on SEND, led by our very own Jenny Hammond. This honest and impactful discussion highlighted the real, tangible difference CHEXS makes in the lives of families across our community.
Thank you
A huge thank you to all who attended, including representatives from Peabody, Broxbourne Council, Hertfordshire County Council, Public Health, Strategic Partnerships, and local businesses. Your presence and support mean the world to us together, we are building stronger futures.
Finally, an enormous thank you to our incredible trustees, Jess Hewitt, Julie Cottenden, Tony Gorton, Cllr Paul Seeby, and Ben Booth for joining us and supporting our work.
This is only the beginning. We are excited to continue building new partnerships and growing these conversations to shape a brighter future for our community.
If you’re interested in working with CHEXS and making a lasting impact, we would love to hear from you!
