CHEXS Family Support – Starting The New School Year
As we kick off a new school year, we’ve been busy connecting with families, offering support and a listening ear through one-to-one sessions, coffee mornings. And furthermore, our team have been out early-mornings for school gate greetings.
In the background, there has been busy preparations for upcoming events in our calendar. We hope you see YOU there.
The Family Support team are pleased to welcome Laurence, our new Family Support team member. He has been getting to know the schools and families that he will be supporting in his new role. In fact he has already facilitated three coffee mornings at Four Swannes Primary School and joined a Macmillan Coffee Morning at Millbrook School. Laurence has enjoyed connecting with families.
Please say hello if you see him out and about!

Preparations are well underway, and we look forward to supporting parents in a relaxed and engaging environment.
Supporting Families Where It Works Best
As always, we continue to work flexibly and responsively to meet the needs of our parents and families. Whether it’s at home, in a coffee shop, the library, or even on the school bus, we meet parents and carers where it works best for them.
The team have been supporting families with a range of needs, including supporting filling in forms for DLA, talking therapy, and secondary school transitions, to name just a few.
Together we understand that the first half term can be a challenging time especially for children and families transitioning from Primary School to Secondary Schools . That’s why we actively liaise with schools and families to ease the process and help support open conversations, we find solutions together.
