New Parenting Unplugged Sessions Thrive
The Family Support Team has loved running our New Parenting Unplugged sessions at Waltham Cross Library. Covering topics like Routines and Boundaries, Devices and IT, and EBSNA, these sessions have been warmly received by the local community.
As a result of these sessions now being open to all parents and carers in the community has led to excellent turnout. Moreover, working closely with Waltham Cross Library has strengthened our connections across the area. Making it easier for families from all over the community to join.
Looking ahead, we’re excited for upcoming sessions focusing on Children’s Wellbeing, Adult Wellbeing, and creative craft activities. Not only will these sessions provide fun and engaging opportunities, but they will also offer practical tools and peer support for everyone involved.

Lending SPACE Brings Resources to Families
Last week, SPACE teamed up with us here at CHEXS. Visiting Cheshunt Library, giving families a wonderful chance to borrow much-needed resources that support their children’s learning and development.
Through this initiative, households could access tools and equipment that might otherwise be difficult to obtain.
In addition, seeing the excitement on parents’ faces as they borrowed items highlighted the real impact this service has. Furthermore, our Family Support Team remains committed to making these resources accessible and supporting families in practical ways, ensuring children have what they need to thrive both at home and in learning environments.

Supporting SEND Families
SEND support sessions continue to be a highlight for families. In particular to those navigating their SEND journey. Over time, these sessions have become a safe and welcoming space for advice, guidance, and peer support. Where parents can enjoy a listening ear and friendly faces.
Equally important, families appreciate the opportunity to share experiences and have a voice. Asking questions, and learning from one another, all while enjoying a cup of tea.
By combining practical information with emotional support, these sessions help parents feel confident in accessing resources. Through this ongoing work, the team contributes to an inclusive community that values every child’s unique needs.

Connecting Daily with Our Community
The team regularly meets parents in schools and across the wider community, while also greeting families daily at the school gate.
Through these everyday interactions, whether offering advice, listening to concerns, or celebrating achievements. It is supporting families to feel seen, supported, and fully part of the CHEXS community.
Being consistently present and approachable ensures families know that there is always a friendly face to turn to for guidance. Ultimately, these connections continue to strengthen trust and build a sense of belonging across the community.
Looking Ahead to Half Term Activities
CHEXS is excited to join the Wasimi Breakfast Club during this February half term. We will be there 18th Wednesday and 20th Friday, where families can enjoy creative craft activities together. These sessions provide a relaxed and welcoming environment, allowing parents and children to connect, be imaginative, and share experiences.
As a result of these engaging sessions, the team looks forward to continuing to build relationships and strengthen the community spirit. By combining fun activities with ongoing support and guidance, we aim to make a positive impact on family wellbeing. Looking ahead, keep an eye out for future events and sessions as CHEXS continues to grow its presence and support families across the community.
