A Busy and Productive Term for Families

This term has been both busy and productive, with a wide range of meetings involving parents, carers, and professionals. We have particularly valued the opportunity to connect with families, not only through formal meetings but also through informal conversations at the school gate, helping to build strong and supportive relationships within the community.

SEND Support at Cheshunt Library

Our SEND support group at Cheshunt Library has continued to provide valuable guidance and support for families. Sessions have covered important topics including EHCPs, school support, sleep, and Neurodiversity Celebration Week. Parents have also collaborated to create visual resources, helping to support their children more effectively at home.

Parenting Unplugged at Waltham Cross Library

At Waltham Cross Library, our Parenting Unplugged sessions have remained well attended and highly engaging. Key topics have included routines and boundaries, device use, EBSNA, and both children’s and parental wellbeing. These sessions have created a safe space for open discussion, encouraging peer support and shared experiences among parents.

Wellbeing Activities and Outdoor Connection

Laurence’s nature walk was a great success, offering parents the chance to enjoy the outdoors, take in riverside views, and spend time relaxing and connecting with others over a hot drink. These wellbeing-focused activities continue to play an important role in supporting positive mental health and community connection.

Empowering Families Through Support and Creative Activities

Our CHEXS Real Talk sessions have continued to provide a welcoming and supportive environment where parents feel heard, empowered, and valued. It has been inspiring to see families sharing experiences, offering advice, and supporting one another. Many parents have also accessed practical support, including help with writing letters and exploring pathways into education and employment. Guest speakers from Beezee by Maximus and Step2Skills have provided valuable insight into wellbeing and future opportunities.

Alongside this, our Spring craft sessions have been a real highlight this term. We have visited all of our partnered primary schools to host after-school craft sessions, creating opportunities for families to come together, get creative, and spend quality time with their children. These sessions have been a great incentive for families to attend, and we have loved seeing the wide range of imaginative and wonderful creations produced by both children and parents.
