Eloise Pilcher – CHEXS Children and young people support worker
My previous experience is within further education working as a mentor to young people. I was then a maths lecturer, teaching functional skills and GCSE to 16+ and Adults. I then moved from this career towards SEND Assessing. This involved working with learners with identified needs and EHCP’s and creating support plans. I worked with students and organised appropriate support for them within the college.
I found out about CHEXS through my workplace. I felt that with my expertise within teaching and working with young people, I could help others. My degree in Psychology enables me to support young people who may need that extra help. I can help them work through their anxieties surrounding school, home and development in general.
My goal whilst working with CHEXS is to ensure that every individual, regardless of background and need, are able to access education and achieve. I am passionate about ensuring that children are comfortable and happy in their environment as well as within themselves. My aim is to help young people to build confidence and esteem as it is such an important starting block to enable them to achieve and reach their own goals.
