Jack Ferris – CHEXS Children and Young People Support Worker

Hi, I’m Jack Ferris, and here’s a little bit about me.
I’m a qualified football coach and have been volunteering in youth football for the past four years. Alongside supporting grassroots football, I’ve also had the amazing opportunity to be the Head Coach at a local football camp, which runs during school half terms and offers children a fun, active, and supportive space to build confidence and skills.

Over the last three years, I’ve worked as a Teaching Assistant and Play Leader at a local infant and nursery school, following a similar path to my colleague Nicola. It was during this time that I became familiar with CHEXS, as they were already supporting children at the school. I had the chance to see the incredible impact their work was having on many of the children I was working with directly.

Through these experiences, I’ve developed a real passion for working with both children and their families, helping to support a wide range of needs and ensuring every child gets the support they deserve.

I’ve also been trained in Hertfordshire’s Therapeutic Thinking approach (formerly known as “Steps”), which has really helped me to understand how children experience and respond to different situations—both in the classroom and beyond.
