Kerry Davies – Children and Young People Lead
My name is Kerry Davies and I am an experienced educator and leader. I’m passionate about supporting the development and well-being of children and young people. As the Children and Young People Lead, I oversee programs designed to empower young individuals. We aim to enhance their skills, and build personal growth, while working closely with them to achieve these goals.
My Experience
My career began as a qualified secondary school teacher, specialising in Physical Education with a secondary focus on Mathematics. Over five years, I taught in both mainstream and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) schools, gaining valuable experience in addressing diverse educational needs. I also served as Head of Department for the Combined Cadet Force, where I cultivated leadership and teamwork through structured, engaging activities.
My Passions
Beyond the classroom, I have worked as an outdoor education instructor, delivering adventurous activities to build confidence, resilience, and collaboration. My passion for youth engagement took me overseas as a representative for children’s and family activities, broadening my perspective and enhancing my ability to design culturally responsive programs.
Additionally, I held the role of Childcare Manager, ensuring high standards of care and enrichment for children. This position strengthened my expertise in program management, safeguarding, and team leadership.
My Skillset
Through these varied roles, I have honed my skills in leadership, program development, and mentorship. I am committed to creating inclusive, supportive environments where children and young people reach their full potential by providing opportunities that nurture their skills, confidence, and resilience, ensuring our programs make a meaningful impact.
