Tony Gorton has been a cornerstone of CHEXS for over a decade, bringing a wealth of leadership experience and an unwavering commitment to the community. As a former teacher with more than 30 years of experience—nearly two decades of which were spent working in Waltham Cross and Cheshunt—Tony possesses a deep understanding of the challenges faced by young people and families in the local area. His strategic leadership expertise plays a vital role in guiding CHEXS to achieve its mission effectively and sustainably.
Tony approaches his role as Chair of Trustees with a thoughtful blend of rigor, integrity, and humility. He is passionate about ensuring that every young person and family supported by CHEXS receives bespoke care to achieve their personal goals. Inspired by the dedication of the CHEXS team, Tony emphasizes rigorous monitoring and evaluation to ensure the charity not only meets but exceeds expectations in its mission to serve the community.
Under Tony’s leadership, CHEXS has experienced remarkable growth, expanding from a team of three to 14 staff members in just over 12 years—a testament to the charity’s impact and the strength of its approach. For Tony, the most rewarding aspect of his role is celebrating the successes of the CHEXS family, from the young people and families we support to the incredible team who work tirelessly to make a difference. His vision and leadership continue to inspire the entire CHEXS community to go the extra mile.
