Free workshops that offer real support, practical strategies and connection
Parenting doesn’t come with a manual, but it shouldn’t feel like you’re doing it alone.
Parenting Unplugged is a series of free, informal workshops designed to support you with real-life challenges. From routines and boundaries to wellbeing, mental health and SEN, each session offers practical advice, peer support, and the reassurance that you’re not the only one.
Workshops are led by the CHEXS Family Support Team and run throughout the school year at local community venues.
Setting clear boundaries and building family routines can feel overwhelming, especially when life is busy and emotions run high. This session explores how to create structure at home in a way that feels manageable and consistent.
You’ll learn practical behaviour strategies that really work, how to stay calm in tricky moments, and how to rebuild your own confidence as a parent. It’s about finding approaches that suit your family, without the pressure to be perfect.
If your child has additional needs, or you’re navigating a possible diagnosis, it can be hard to know where to turn. This session focuses on supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) both at home and in school.
We’ll explore how to advocate for your child, build strong relationships with teachers, and access the help that’s available. It’s also a space to share experiences and discover support for you as a parent or carer, not just your child.
Children today are facing more pressure than ever, and so are their parents.
This session focuses on how to support your child’s emotional wellbeing, spot the early signs of anxiety or stress, and develop healthy ways to manage emotions together.
We’ll also take time to explore your own wellbeing, and how looking after yourself helps you to better support your child. This is a calm, reassuring session for any parent who wants to build stronger emotional foundations at home.
